Members Draw for International Credit Union Day
In celebration of International Credit Union Day next Thursday, 19 October, Kildare Credit Union is holding a special Draw for members, writes Brian Byrne.
All members calling in to the three offices in Kildare, Narraghmore or Kilcullen, or who transact online, between now and and next Wednesday (18th) will automatically be in the draw for prizes donated by local businesses. Prizes draws will take place and the winners will be announced on Thursday 19th.
International Credit Union Day was established 75 years ago in 1948. The first Credit Union in Ireland was established in Dun Laoghaire in 1956 following a process begun three years before led by Dublin woman Nora Herlihy.
A Credit Union was formed in Kilcullen in 1971, and the current building was opened in 2005. In 2016, Kilcullen and Narraghmore Credit Unions merged with Kildare Credit Union.
