Three local sponsors of Kilcullen AFC were thanked today for their support of the club's U15 Premier team through the provision of kit, writes Brian Byrne.
The key sponsor was Nolan’s of Kilcullen, promoting awareness of the work of the Punchestown Kidney Research Fund, funding training kit for the team along with the Little Brew Cafe in Kilcullen. Kilsaran Concrete sponsored match jerseys for the team.
Expressing his own appreciation for the team to be carrying the 'GetOrganised' logo promoting organ donation, founder of the PKRF James Nolan told the young people that it was very appropriate as the charity had only recently begun a special wellness campaign for young people awaiting organ transplants. "It is very important that such young people keep themselves fit, because that will mean they are likely to be offered an organ transplant more quickly," he said, adding that the prominence of the logo on the kit would also help to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation.

Representatives of the club and team also showed off their new kit to Ronan and Aisling Skehan of Little Brew Cafe, and made a presentation of a framed jersey to Kilsaran, which was accepted by TJ O'Neill, Location Manager, on behalf of the company.

"It's really helpful to get local support like this for a local club," Kilcullen AFC's Niall Redmond said. "Especially for the younger lads, it gives them a sense of pride to be representing their whole community when playing other clubs."
