Fundraising music events tonight
A reminder of two fundraising events this evening, which clash but both are deserving of support in some way.
The Music for Medicine Autumn Concert in St Brigid's Cathedral Kildare features the Gormanstown Choir and other local musicians, raising funds to help medical treatment for Syrian refugees. The funds raised buy operating theatre time and medicines for treatments by medical practitioner volunteers who include Kilcullen people. Doors open 7.30pm.
There's also a strong Kilcullen link in a concert and auction in Lawlor's Ballroom in Naas this evening, with performers Megan O'Neill, the Dublin Gospel Choir, and Jack Lukeman among a stellar lineup. Funds are in aid of Celine Garvey who is fighting cancer at the moment — Celine lives just outside Kilcullen.
These are difficult times, but all help for either or both causes is appreciated.
