Have your say on KCC Climate Action Plan

Public consultation on Kildare County Council's Draft Climate Action Plan will remain open until 3 November, writes Brian Byrne. The final plan is scheduled to be adopted by Kildare's elected councillors in December.
Information sessions will take place in Leixlip Library on Tuesday 10 October from 2pm-430pm, Athy Library on Wednesday 18 October at the same times, and Newbridge Library on Thursday 26 October between 5pm-7.40pm.
The plan is the local element of the national obligation for Ireland to be climate resilient, biodiversity rich, and an environmentally sustainable and carbon neutral economy by 2050. It will include adaptation and mitigation measures at local level to address issues related to the climate change, such as flooding defences, disaster management, biodiversity, and water use.
Other matters in the plan will be targeted actions by the local authority, communities and businesses, and advocacy and communication through open dialogue.
Submission can be made online or by post and must be received before 4pm on Friday, 3 November 2023. Everyone is welcome to make a submission (including youth groups, children and those representing children), online at Kildare County Council Climate Action Plan | Kildare County Council or by post to Climate Action Coordinator, Áras Chill Dara, Devoy Park, Naas, Co. Kildare W91 X77F.
