River tree down
It looks like the constant heavy flow of water for the last several weeks has toppled one of the riverside trees downstream of the bridge, writes Brian Byrne.
The tree (is it a white willow?) was at the edge of the remnants of the former weir across the river, and is looking ready to fully block the waterway if it falls further in.
The river has been in constant high flood since early August, due to ESB overhaul works on the dam upstream of Ballymore.
