Fr Gary celebrates Silver Jubilee

Fr Gary with members of his family who came to Kilcullen to celebrate his silver jubilee.

Kilcullen's Fr Gary Darby celebrated his 25th year as a priest yesterday with many parishioners as well as his parents Jim and Ann and other members of his family, writes Brian Byrne.

A celebratory Mass, concelebrated with Fr John Hindley, was followed by refreshments in the Parish Centre where Fr Gary cut a congratulatory cake, and received a presentation of a garden in a bottle on behalf of the parish community.

At the Mass, Fr Gary's sister Nichola and niece Lauren did the readings, and his parents brought up the offertory gifts.

The community presentation was made by Nessa Dunlea.
