A lot going on this weekend

It's a busy weekend in Kilcullen, kicking off this evening with the Corina Staunton remembrance night in O'Connell's Bar in aid of the Cancer Care Research Trust, writes Brian Byrne.
There's also the Kilcullen GAA Bingo tonight, in the clubhouse from 8pm, with a €150 Jackpot up for grabs in 41 numbers.
Tomorrow is a big day in Kilcullen for cyclists, with the return of the Murphy Geospatial Charity Cycle in partnership with Kilcullen Cycling Club and TITAN Experiences, with a target of €30,000 in aid of the Children’s Health Foundation — up to the pandemic break, this event had already raised €90,000 for the cause. Riders roll off from 10am.
Sunday morning there's 5K Charity Walk from 11am at Kilcullen Community Centre, the second event in the Corina Staunton 'Come Together' weekend, walking out at 11am.
Also at 11am, there's a Thanksgiving Mass for Fr Martin Harte, marking his move to a new parish in Beaumont, Dublin. Refreshments afterwards in the Parish Centre, to which all are invited.
For those interested in the life and poetry of Gerard Manley Hopkins, the 35th International Festival kicks off this evening at Dominican College Newbridge, opened by US Ambassador Claire Cronin. Tomorrow night has a celebrity concert by Hans Pålsson, regarded as Sweden's greatest pianist.
