Open Day on Dun Ailinne 2023
A reminder that there will be an Open Day on the archaeological site of Dun Ailinne on Sunday next 9 July, from 1pm-4pm, writes Brian Byrne.
Admission will be €5 per person, with all funds going to the Friends of St Brigid's Hospice on The Curragh.
The director of the annual summer 'dig' by archaeology students from the US, Dr Susan Johnston, will conduct tours at 1pm and again at 3pm.
The Open Day is courtesy of the Thompson family on whose private land Dun Ailinne is located. The family have asked that DOGS ARE NOT BROUGHT by visitors, as it is a working cattle farm.
This is a once a year chance to see the work at the ancient royal site, and hear about it from the people who know it best.
