Scoil Bhride pupils make artistic Brigid's Cloak

This example of a St Brigid'd cloak artwork was produced by the 2nd Class Robin pupils of Scoil Bhride as a collective project to mark the saints feast day, writes Brian Byrne.

It consists of felt work and weaving, with each of the 29 class members doing individual pieces before they were all put together. The work was conducted under the guidance of artist Marta Golubowska, as part of the artist in residency project 2022 funded by Kildare County Council. The theme of the cloak showcases diversity and 'sense of the personal superhero'.

The piece was blessed in Kilcullen Parish Church on St Brigid's Day, and is on display in the entrance hall to the school.
