Nolan's sharing celebration of sausages win

Nolan's Butchers in Kilcullen are celebrating their recent national win for Ireland's Best Traditional Butchers Sausages with a special deal today of 'buy one, get one free', writes Brian Byrne.

They are also displaying their trophy in the shop, won at the finals of the Irish Craft Butchers All-Ireland competition in Portlaoise.

Pictured below with James Nolan is Fred Mitchell, who is responsible for making the sausages each day, to a recipe developed by James's late father Andy.

"Fred is in each morning at five o'clock, getting the sausages and black and white puddings ready for our customers," James told the Diary today. "He's the unsung hero of our winning ways."
