More local roads for 2023 improvement works

Further to the improvements on parts of the Logstown-Carnalway and Brannockstown-Ballymore roads which we reported earlier this week, further plans for the Kilcullen area during 2023 have now been agreed, writes Brian Byrne.

These include road maintenance on the Sunnyhill-Kinneagh section (above), also at Mellon Hill, and road improvements at Castlemartin and on the Sunnyhill Road section (below) leading to Thompson's Cross.

Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer said that while she didn't get all the roads she would have liked on the list, the Kilcullen area 'did quite well'. "I will continue to see if there are other funding streams available to fund additional road repairs," she told the Diary this morning. "Unfortunately all these projects rely on funding and a large MD is trying to access funding from a very small pot."
