Narraghmore was a runner-up in the 2022 IPB Pride of Place Awards, which were announced at the weekend, writes Brian Byrne.
The community, which has seen an impressive transformation in various ways thanks to the work of Narraghmore Development CLG, took the second place in the Village with a population of 300-1000 category. The organisation oversees a variety of hardworking voluntary groups such as Biodiversity & Tidy Town Committee, The Old Hardware and the newly formed Sustainability Committee.
Narraghmore was one of three communities nominated for the finals by Kildare County Council, along with Suncroft Young at Heart group and the Liffey Linear Park in Newbridge. The park, a flagship project of Newbridge Tidy Towns, won its Creative Place category.
