Awards for Kilcullen members of Naas choir

Three Kilcullen ladies were presented with special Long Service Awards at the recent gala concert to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Nás na Rí Singers, writes Brian Byrne. They are Gertrude Coffey, Breda Schwer and Monica Martin.

The concert was held on Thursday 1 December 2022, in the Church of Our Lady and St David, Naas.

The choir was founded in the old Naas Cotton Mills building under its first director Michael Weedle, and over the 50 years there have been nine musical directors.

There are currently 72 choir members, and the musical director is Nathan Barrett.
