Lugnaquilla Challenge firmly on Maintain Hope's calendar

The recent inaugural Lugnaquilla Challenge trek up the mountain in Wicklow has so far raised €3,165 for Maintain Hope, and some funds are still to be collected, writes Brian Byrne.

"We were really hoping to place this event firmly in our fundraising calendar, and judging from the feedback we succeeded," says Gerry O'Donoghue from the charity. "Thanks to our trekkers and their generous sponsors, we have greatly exceeded our expectations."

He paid tribute to the 'able guidance' on the trek from Frank Mitchell, with a 'happy crew' enjoying a challenging but rewarding experience. "The first Saturday in November will be the date for future Lugnaquilla Challenges," he promised.
