Two Mile House ICA celebrates 70th
The Two Mile House ICA Guild held a lunch last Saturday, 18th June, to celebrate our 70th Anniversary, writes Guild Secretary Mary Gleeson.
We have the oldest Guild in Co Kildare, formed in 1951. We should have celebrated last year, 2021, but because of Covid we had to postpone our celebrations till this year.
Our lunch was in Kalbarri Cookery School and Restaurant, near Kilcullen. We chose this venue because it is run by the daughter of our esteemed member Breda Patterson RIP, who sadly passed away last year. The lunch was absolutely delicious, we had a 70th Anniversary cake and our President Joan Shirran made a welcoming speech to us all before we toasted our many years together in the ICA.
A total of 19 members attended the lunch, and we shared memories and stories and photographs of times gone by, with special memories shared of our guild's recently deceased members Breda Patterson and Dolores Brophy who joined our guild in the 1950s and who passed away during Covid.
