Weatherday: Europeans for recovery
Sunny spells in the afternoon, and temperatures up to 14deg in moderate to fresh breezes from the south.
On this day in 1958, a convention was signed in Paris forming the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation to coordinate efforts to restore Europe’s economy under the European Recovery Program (Marshall Plan). It had 16 members, including Ireland, and later was replaced by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.
