This year St Joseph’s have celebrated St Brigid in a very special way, writes Leanne Toft from Halverstown NS.
The children and their families gathered fabric which Mrs B used to create a beautiful St Brigid’s cloak that will be cherished in our school for years to come.
The children and staff gathered rushes locally and all contributions were greatly appreciated. These rushes were used to make St Brigid’s crosses in our three classrooms.
Fr Mackey kindly came to visit the classes and blessed the crosses that the children had made. We really appreciate him taking time out of his day to share in our celebration of St Brigid.
We had Sam, Leah and Holly reading the story of St Brigid’s cloak to the classes along with a prayer to St Brigid. A huge thank you to them, they did a wonderful job.
