Generous support for Maintain Hope books and bric a brac sale

After a very well-supported first session yesterday, the Maintain Hope Book and Bric a Brac Sale is again in full swing this morning until later this afternoon, writes Brian Byrne.

"We had phenomenal support and goodwill so far," says Gerry O'Donoghue, who with fellow Maintain Hope director Esther Reddy is keeping things going today. Both are very appreciative of the books stock, a combination of donations from KWWSPCA and a generous supply of new books from Woodbine Books in Kilcullen.

As for the work of the charity, they say that despite the pandemic and its impact on fundraising, Maintain has 'managed to meet all our commitments' to their families in Kenya so far.

"We have a new school year starting there in January and that's going to mean more requirements, including help to fund third level students," Gerry notes. "But with everybody's help and generosity, we should manage that too."

Every book bought helps in that effort.
