Narraghmore going continental for July

Narraghmore is to get a very French ambience during July when an inaugural boules competition kicks off next weekend, writes Brian Byrne.
The game, a staple town square recreation in France and other Mediterranean countries on summer weekend mornings, has Greek origins but was brought to France by Roman soldiers and sailors.
For Narraghmore, the idea is being promoted by Tony Falvey, with a knockout competition for teams of two through July.
Entry is €5 which will be incorporated in a 'pot' which the top three teams will share in appropriate ratios.
The location is across the road from Mel's pub, and the boules will be provided. More details here.
