Love Food catering at Russborough

Kilcullen-based caterer Love Food is operating a new cafe at Russborough House, writes Brian Byrne.

Master chef John Coughlan is at the helm of the cafe, which is an extended space with chinoiserie type wallpaper, built-in banquette seating and signature trouvé tables inspired by life in the great house, art and the collections at Russborough. It will be open for indoor dining as soon as regulations allow. Meantime the outside courtyard is a heavenly spot for coffee, delicious lunches and afternoon teas, salads, pastries and cakes until indoor dining is permitted.

There's also a new gift shop in the basement of the house stocking a wide range of unique homewares, clothing, collectibles and decorative objets. This in addition to the books and architecture-inspired gifts which can be bought inside the entrance from the colonnade where tickets for the house tour are available.

Russborough is in the midst of a rebranding under the vision of creative director Amanda Pratt to showcase its 'hidden treasures'.

Russborough is run by a charitable foundation set up by the Beit family to maintain it and ensure public access, so it depends on its own fundraising and commercial activities to survive. It is open daily 9am to 6pm. Self Guided House Tours 11am to 4pm. Shop and CafĂ© 10am to 5.30pm. All day Car Park €3. House Tour Admission: €12 | €10 | €6. Group rates available.
