Kildare Libraries roll out college networks access

Third level students in County Kildare can now use their local library WiFi to securely access their colleges anywhere in the country via the Eduroam system, writes Brian Byrne.

This follows a pilot programme in two branches of the Kildare County Library Service. The initiative has now been rolled out through the full county library network.

The service is made possible through a partnership with the Kildare Library IT department and HEAnet.

Eduroam is a service which allows students access their college networks thousands of locations in over a hundred countries, but now they can do so also from their local library in Kildare.
