Investigation of possible Pinkeen contamination

Kildare County Council will be flushing out the surface water drainage in the Cnoc na Greine estate near Pinkeen Stream today as part of a cleaning operation for the stream.

This follows reports of a smell from the stream, from which preliminary investigations suggests something has leaked into the stream.

The work today is at the behest of Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer, pending further investigation into the root cause of the problem.
