In addition to the club officers and committee, there were invited guests with connections to previous iterations of the 70-year old club, including one of the founder members, Pat Lynch. Minister of State Martin Heydon was also there, in recognition of a €66,000 Sports grant towards the €116,000 investment by the club in its three all-weather courts.
Those present heard a short history of the club from Nessa Dunlea, a trustee of Kilcullen Tennis Club, and a short address by Richard Fahey, CEO of Tennis Ireland.
