Kilcullen Tennis Club official launch this afternoon

The official launch of the revitalised Kilcullen Tennis Club took place this afternoon, in weather that also celebrated the occasion, writes Brian Byrne.

CEO of Tennis Ireland Richard Fahey cuts the ribbon to launch the club.

In addition to the club officers and committee, there were invited guests with connections to previous iterations of the 70-year old club, including one of the founder members, Pat Lynch. Minister of State Martin Heydon was also there, in recognition of a €66,000 Sports grant towards the €116,000 investment by the club in its three all-weather courts.

Those present heard a short history of the club from Nessa Dunlea, a trustee of Kilcullen Tennis Club, and a short address by Richard Fahey, CEO of Tennis Ireland.
