Kilcullen back in competitive cycling

Kilcullen Cycling Club had two riders competing in the U12 race last night as cycle racing returned to Mondello Park, writes Liam Walker.

Shane Whelan got into the early break and won the two-man sprint to take his first victory. Next home was Conor Regan in third place on his own having dropped the other chasers to finish on his own.

Oisin Collins, riding his first race, was sixth across the line. Oisin was active early in the race but missed the break and took his place in the bunch sprint.

Shane was also sixth in the South Kildare Grand Prixon Sunday in a race organised by Athy Wheelers.
