Knockaulin, Old Kilcullen links to Curragh survey

Funding granted to the Curragh under the 2021 Community Monuments Grant scheme will be used to undertake a Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) survey of the Curragh and parts of Knockaulin, writes Brian Byrne.

The information gathered from the survey will be used to inform the Consultation Management Plan for the Curragh and will also complement the geophysical survey scheduled for Old Kilcullen, according to Kildare South TD and Minister of State Martin Heydon.

The €24,293 grant comes from the Community Monuments Fund which supports the conservation, maintenance, protection and promotion of local monuments and historic sites.
