A 'water blitz' test of the River Liffey today in Kilcullen came up with a 'good ecological status' report, writes Brian Byrne.
The testing was carried out by members of Kilcullen Community 4 Climate Action, and the data gathered was checked on a special website, which returned the report.
The conclusion included the information that nitrates were higher than phosphates, which the group said was 'interesting'.
While carrying out the tests, a check on river insect life was also undertaken. It seemed 'low' compared to previous examinations, according to the group's Facebook post.
Meanwhile, the group is hosting a Seedling and Seed Swap event at Kilcullen's cross roads on Saturday 15 May from 10am.
