Cold snap due, check for leaks
Kildare County Council and Irish Water have appealed to home and business owners to check for leaks in advance of an expected period of freezing temperatures, writes Brian Byrne.
They also ask people to conserve water as much as possible while adhering to public health guidelines on Covid-19 prevention.
The cold snap earlier this month resulted in a higher than normal level of burst pipes in the subsequent thaw, with hundreds of leaks and repairs having to be dealt with.
To report a leak please contact Irish Water on 1850 278 278.
