Christmas in Kilcullen is now officially on
Santa Claus came to the market square this evening to officially switch on the Christmas Lights put up by Kilcullen Community Action, writes Brian Byrne.
Eoin Houlihan was MC for the event and did a warm-up for the virtual audience on the live-streamed events in the freezing conditions before the main act arrived.
Among other things he thanked those who had made the lights possible, including the volunteers and CE workers from KCA, the business and individuals who had supported the initiative in this difficult year, and Kildare County Council who had come up with an increased grant this year.
Our slide show here gives only a flavour of the atmosphere which the lights are providing to Kilcullen from now all through the festive season. A special word to the Bridge Community for their artistic work with the riverside gazebo and their Santa sleigh.
