Camino Cill Chuilinn is live for Heritage Week
Mayor of County Kildare Cllr Mark Stafford and County Heritage Officer Bridget Loughlin have officially launched the Kildare element of National Heritage Week 2020 which begins on Saturday, writes Brian Byrne.
All projects are online for 2020, including the Kilcullen Heritage Group's contribution, Camino Cill Chuilinn, which can now be viewed here.
Because of the Covid restrictions recently imposed on the county, the Kilcullen Heritage Group has postponed a launch of the Camino until September. But anyone who wants to walk or cycle it during Heritage Week, or visit any sections, can do so with the background of historical information on the area from the dedicated website. It includes a written narrative, distances between points, photographs, and links to video pieces.
It is easily read on your phone as you travel around the 16kms circuit. The Camino is envisaged as a 'living' document, to which will be added further links to audio, video, and other sources as time goes on.
