Kilcullen Community Centre News

There has been a lot of activity around our Complex and All Weather Pitches this past week, writes Enda O'Neill, Manager of the Kilcullen Community Centre.

From Monday to Thursday Joan O’Byrne hosted a Brickx Club Camp in our Connolly room, where mums and dads got a well-earned break for two hours. These two hours also benefited our younger people - as well as having great fun, Brickx Club also helps develop their social skills, problem solving skills, creativity and brings their imagination to reality. Joan will be holding another camp from Monday August 10th until Friday August 14th, for further details contact Joan on info@thebrickxclub.ie.

The evenings in the complex were also busy with Yvonne Kelly hosting her intermediate Pilates on Monday at 8pm, beginners Pilates on Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm. If you are interested in trying some Pilates out why not contact Yvonne on yvonnepilatesyoga@gmail.com.

KCELL Badminton Academy also resumed training on Wednesday in the complex. Jennie Magee who is an Ex-Irish International and a BWF (Badminton World Federation) Level 2 Irish Junior National Coach, runs this Badminton Ireland academy cell. While developing young players who have represented their counties, provinces and Ireland playing badminton, Jennie now plans to start coaching kids between the ages of 6-12 years to develop them to hopefully someday represent Ireland. Jennie, in the near future, plans to host an open day and exhibition for our National School.

Karen Brophy also hosts a Pilates class on a Tuesday night from 6-7pm if interested you can contact Karen at karmurbro99@gmail.com.

Our All Weather Pitch have also been extremely busy with our clubs back training. No.1 Fitness coach Michal has been running his Bootcamp on Fridays at 7pm and Sundays at 11am, these camps have been a great success and will continue until the end of July, you can pay as you go and all are welcome.

Also remember that Creans are having a coffee, bread and pastry sale at the centre tomorrow morning for 10am to 1pm. Remember bring your own cup and container, keeping it green!
