'Wild area' signs have been provided to Kilcullen Community Action for marking areas being managed for wildlife, writes Brian Byrne.

The signs were made available through the Council's Heritage Office, the recent meeting of KCA heard.

The meeting was conducted by video-conference, and Paul Leighton of the Pollinator group said a number of them have already been placed.

Ray Kelly noted that many of the estates are already 'up and running' with the Group's wildflowers scheme, having received seeds provided by KCA.

Noel Clare added that though Moanbane Park isn't directly participating in the scheme, they have refrained for mowing the bank in front of the estates where there are a lot of wildflowers already growing.

Paul Leighton said that pictures of all the areas under wildlife and wildflower management need to be taken to accompany the paperwork required by the authorities supporting such schemes.
