Rubbish dumping 'outrageous' — Diary reader

This note was sent to the Diary by a local resident, writes Brian Byrne. It seems the menace of the coronavirus hasn't tempered some bad habits.

Today I was out walking the dog and I was absolutely disgusted by what I saw — these images are only two of which I came across. Over the wall of the convent a bag of clothes were dumped and on the grounds of the secondary school another rubbish bag was also dumped.
This is so hazardous along with rudeness, ignorance and laziness to say the least.
It appears that people are still so ignorant and selfish in their actions and that they are continuing to destroy not only our beautiful village but the whole environment in which we live. Is it any wonder why so many are falling ill with sicknesses and viruses these days? If we all were to do these horrific actions, the whole human race along with the environment would be wiped out with diseases of all forms.
This town has clothes banks placed at the rear of the Eurospar car park and also the laundrette at Hillcrest, along with many other methods of getting old OK clothes bags collected with various clothes bags stickers coming through our doors weekly/fortnightly etc. Why certain individuals still feel the need or urge to dump rubbish is without understanding, and outrageous in my opinion.
