Replacements for stolen flower baskets

Replacement flower baskets for the bridge have now arrived and will feature on the Kilcullen In Bloom summer flowers scheme, writes Brian Byrne.

They are replacements for baskets that were stolen during the winter, and Kilcullen Community Action has bought replacements.

At the recent KCA meeting by videoconference chair Ann Cashman said she was delighted they have been replaced. "It is disappointing that they were stolen, though. It adds to our costs for KIB."

There was some discussion about whether some help towards the cost might be available from Kildare County Council. "Technically, they were Council property," Noel Clare said. "We might be able to get something back."
