Newsletter has biodiversity tips for lockdown

To keep some of the initial momentum going until the Kildare Community Biodiversity Project training resumes in September, Green Pine Consulting has put together its first monthly biodiversity email bulletin for the programme, writes Brian Byrne.

The newsletter has links to biodiversity related guides, courses and activities for this time of the year, including using the lockdown period to brush up on biodiversity skills and knowledge.

Among the ideas is to download the National Biodiverity Centre App onto mobile phones and use it to record biodiversity when out on walks.

It's also a good time to start thinking about biodiversity in home gardens and managing the space.

There's also a Bumblebee Identification and Recording Course. It's online and it is free.

There's a link to a guide to creating and managing a Wildflower Meadow, and one to a list of suitable plants for pollinators that can be used in beds and containers.

The full newsletter can be downloaded here.
