It Says in The Bridge — April 2020

Due to the coronavirus situation, bringing difficulties both in events coverage and distribution, it was decided not to publish a print edition of the April 2020 Bridge magazine, writes Brian Byrne.

However, there is an electronic version published today which will hopefully help to maintain continuity of the magazine, currently celebrating its 50th year in existence.

Use the Download PDF option for the easiest reading experience. The interactive one has some hyperlinks, especially on the Brannoxtown CNS pages. The interactive is best read on a computer screen.

We decided to wait until Easter to publish, to provide a point of focus. Indicating that the print magazine will resume again, that we will all move on again at the end of coronavirus.

Wearing my hat as editor, I'd like to thank our regular contributors, especially the schools, for providing their usual reports from unusual perspectives. The views of pupils in the current situation are particularly interesting.

There are also some new contributions, and again I would like to say thanks for those. Particularly the photographs, as I am in the cocoonery at the moment and can't get out to take my own as in normal times.

The e-Bridge can be read on any device, mobile phone (that's a little tedious, though), a desktop computer, a tablet. It can also be downloaded as a pdf (the option is via the three dots at the bottom right of the screen on mobiles or tablets, and is the easiest way to later browse at leisure), and it can be printed out for anyone who wants to retain a hard copy.

The Editorial Board encourages everyone to spread the link to friends, on social media, and anywhere else they feel that Kilcullen people might want to access the magazine.

It is, of course, rather less than the usual 40 pages. But worth reading anyhow. Oh, yes ... and it is free. There's a first in 50 years.
