Weatherday: Hail the Emperor's army

Some hope in this morning's sky for the mainly sunny day that's forecast. No rain likely, and fresh chilly northeast wind.

It's cold, and will remain so, with highs here of just 7deg, slipping back down towards freezing after the dark which is an hour later tonight.

On this day in 1974, farmers in China found an underground chamber with 8,000 life-size terra-cotta soldiers and horses, in the tomb of Emperor Qin Shi Huang who died in 210 BC. They sure don't do burials like that any more.
