Wind is up, rain threatening

Image: Windfinder.
The wind has rapidly increased in speed over this lunchtime hour, and is now at a mean speed of almost 60km/h, writes Brian Byrne.

According to forecasts we can expect gusts of up to 100km/h in this area over the next hour or two.

The temperature has also dropped, so a degree of sleet, or even some snow may happen, though that will change back to rain fairly quickly. The heaviest rain is due around teatime.
