KCA to attend Ballyshannon appeal advisory meeting
Representatives from Kilcullen Community Action will attend a meeting in Ballyshannon on Thursday next, to hear the comments of a planner on the appeal by Kilsaran Concrete on their refused planning application, writes Brian Byrne.
At last night's meeting of KCA, Eoin Houlihan said the appeal to An Bord Pleanala is a 'very technical' one, and the Ballyshannon Action Group meeting will provide detail on which to base any observation to the appeal.
He said he had been advised that any observations should be made by groups rather than individuals. On a query from Ray Kelly as to the cost, it was established that ABP require a fee of €50 with any submission.
Ray Kelly said it would be interesting to see what the appeal documents said about Kilcullen, if anything, noting that Kilsaran had maintained the proposed development would not impact on Kilcullen.
Eoin Houlihan said as far as he was concerned, the M9 bridge was the main problem, as it isn't a 'proper motorway intersection'. "It's a very dangerous junction as it is," he added.
After some discussion it was agreed that two representatives from KCA would attend the Ballyshannon meeting, and it would be decided at the next KCA meeting whether a further submission would be made by the Kilcullen group.
