Thanks for Spout cancer gigs support

The Jimmy McEvoy Trio at Jimmy's Gig in September.
The amount raised by supporters of Irish Cancer Society fundraising in The Spout in recent months was €2,725, writes Brian Byrne.

That included money raised by the Jimmy's Gig in September and the climb of the Sugar Loaf last month.

Jimmy's Gig in memory of Jimmy Aspell had a brilliant lineup of musicians who also used to help out Jimmy's own fundraising activities.

They included Brush Shiels, his son Jude, Jimmy McEvoy Trio, Barley & the Graperag, Edel Mac Aodh, The Mississippi Mudrats, John Swaine, Ciaran Warfield's Catalpa, Tony Kirwan, and Jimmy O Donnell.

Tony Kirwan, one of the organisers of Jimmy's Gig, has expressed his thanks to everyone who supported this year's activities. "We love you and please God we'll see you in 2020," he said.
