A new audio trail guide about The Curragh was launched today at the seminar in Newbridge Aspects of The Curragh.

The guide includes information about the Curragh's history, flora and fauna, archaeology, myths and legends, military history, grazing, equine industry and more. It is the result of an idea discussed by Cllr Fiona McLoughlin Healy around four years ago.

"I want to thank Bridget for her kind words and acknowledgement today and to acknowledge her commitment to drawing together people with the knowledge of different fascinating elements of the Curragh Plains. It could not have happened without her. I would like to thank in particular Mark Weld who put many hours into outlining the initial draft trail that helped get the project off the ground."

The councillor also thanked Abarta for doing 'a superb job' of bringing it all together, the Curragh Racecourse, Naas Aerial Photography and Kildare County Council.
