Meeting to extend involvement in Pollinator Project
A meeting next month about Kilcullen's Pollinator Plan for 2020 is aimed at increasing the participation of people and areas in the town, writes Brian Byrne.
The meeting, currently scheduled for 13 November in the Credit Union offices, is open to all individuals and to representatives of estates in Kilcullen. In addition to future plans there will also be a report on Kilcullen's pollinator activities through 2019. The Pollinator Project was launched last May.
"Our aim is to get the estates onboard, developing their existing wild areas and and planning for further ones," says Paul Leighton, who is leading the plan, a part of Kilcullen Community Action's programme of work.
"We will also inform the meeting of our planting in areas leading into Kilcullen to add biodiversity. For 2020 we will have an experienced horticulturist to assist in the plan for 2020."
Paul also says there will be full support and guidance for all who get involved. "The aim is to build on the success of 2019 and add depth for the project in 2020."
