Henry Flanagan Memorial Concert
The Fr Henry Flanagan Memorial Concert will be held in Dominican College Newbridge on Wednesday next, 25 September.
Choirs from Kilcullen, Newbridge and Naas will take part in the event in the College Chapel which commences at 8pm.
Fr Flanagan was a highly-respected sculptor, and among his many pieces to be seen around Ireland is the one at St Brigid's Well in The Valley Park (above).
In all, he created some 400 works, both religious and secular, in wood, stone, concrete, plaster, plastic, copper, bronze, and enamels.
He taught English, history, art and music during his time as a Dominican priest in Newbridge, from 1945. He died in 1992.
