New hi-viz vests and bee-suits for KCA

New hi-viz vests for Kilcullen Community Action/Tidy Towns volunteers have arrived, but with a problem, writes Brian Byrne.

Ray Kelly told the recent meeting of the group that the spelling of Kilcullen had been done incorrectly, with a second 'l' making it Killcullen.

He said the suppliers will provide the same number of vests with the proper spelling. Replying to a query about 'recycling' the incorrect vests, he said the group would be keeping them. "We're essentially getting double what we ordered," he said. "We can use the incorrect ones when we have larger numbers of volunteers for special events."

He also noted that two bee-keeping suits had arrived, for use by KCA members training to be beekeepers of the community hives.

Despite requests, he declined to model the suit at the meeting. "Maybe Halloween," he said.
