Rain didn't put dampers on 17th Mac & Norman Run
We don't have an official count as yet, but it took the trucks convoy in today's Mac & Norman's Vintage Rally a full nine minutes to pass through the town, writes Brian Byrne. All colour and noise as usual.
They had been preceded as usual by the bikers and the owners of old and well-loved cars, all of which managed to make their trip before the rain set in.
The rain didn't bother the truckers, even if it may have kept the spectator numbers a little lower than usual.
And for the guys and gals driving the big modern tractors, they were also well protected. But the real old tractors which are the big attraction for many were all open, so it was raincoats and hats for most.
Still, it didn't dampen the enthusiasm for all who took part, because the cause was more than a little rain could bother.
Well done again to all, for making the 17th Mac & Norman Vintage Rally another big success.
As usual, all the Diary's photos of the run are available here.
