Emer sings tribute to her late father

It was a long wait for her Kilcullen, Kilgowan, Calverstown and Narraghmore fans last night, but Emer Fogarty brought last night’s opening session to a stunningly emotional close when she finally took to the stage in Tralee, writes Brian Byrne.

After her chat with Daithi, in which she shared her feelings when her late father passed away last year, she came to her finale, and brought the Dome to pin-drop silence with her rendition of ‘The Parting Glass’, in tribute to him.

On its own online coverage of her singing, RTE described it as ‘stunning’. And it was, bringing both tears and cheers from the audience.
