Boxing training resumes tonight
Training will resume tonight, Tuesday 10 September, for the Kilcullen Boxing Club 2019/2020 season.
Training will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and boxers will only be accepted who are aged from nine years upwards.
Training times are 7.30pm-8.30pm for 9/10 year-olds, and 7.30pm-8.45pm or 9pm for all others, depending on the sparring sessions.
A membership form is to be filled in by all newcomers and current boxers who are continuing. The €20 fee which must accompany the form covers insurance. There will in addition be subs of €1.50 per night.
Any boxer aged 11 years of age in 2019 will be eligible for competition this season.
Gum shields, hand wraps and a skipping rope are required. The club provides gloves and headgear, or can advise as to proper equipment for those who prefer to have their own.
Parents are reminded that sparring is essential and a compulsory part the boxing program.
The club operates a drop off and collect system. It's a distraction for the boxer to have parents or guardians in the hall during training, but parents are welcome inside the doors when dropping/collecting and if any questions need to be asked.
