Last weekend's Cycle for Crumlin organised by Murphy Surveys and the Kilcullen Cycling Club raised €21,000 for CMRF Crumlin.

“We’re truly overwhelmed with the level of support and kind generosity of all those who supported the 2019 Cycle for Crumlin.” Niall Murphy, Managing Director Murphy Surveys, said. “We had over 300 cyclists pedalling over 29,000km through the Kildare countryside on our 100km and 50km routes to help support the truly amazing work of the Children’s Medical Research Foundation, and smashing previous years’ targets to raise over €21,000 for the charity — making our total contribution to date €87,000!”

The participants were supported on the day by a crew of marshals and volunteers from Kilcullen Cycling Club, Murphy Surveys, Bikemarshals.ie, and an emergency ambulance crew from Hearter.ie.

“We are absolutely delighted with the fundraising and corporate support from Murphy Surveys over the past six years.” Gráinne Kennedy, Head of Corporate Fundraising at CMRF, commented. “We are always amazed at the amount this wonderful organisation raises for some of Ireland’s sickest children, and also the amount of staff that get involved.

Niall Murphy also thanked those businesses who had supported the event, including Apache Pizza, Briqo Catering, Comerfords Bakery, Glanbia, and Avonmore Milk.

"Thanks also to Emo Oil Cross Keys Kildangan for supporting the halfway refreshment stop and Scats Bouncy Castles for providing the tents and bouncy castle. Apache Pizza, Tipperary Water, Jo’s Absolute Nutrition, Flahavans, No1 Fitness Kilcullen and QM Sports Ireland for donating to our cycle goody bags; and thank you to Dunnes Stores, Bizquip Sandyford, Burke's Pharmacy Kilcullen, Jennifer Fitzsimons, Kildare Flowers, Kildare Bathroom Company, Lawlor's of Naas and Fallons of Kilcullen for donating prizes for our raffle on the day."

A beautiful chessboard crafted by Midlands Woodturning Chapter was auctioned on the day.
