Tracey O'Dwyer elected, other seats filled

Kilcullen's Tracey O'Dwyer has been elected to Kildare County Council on the 11th count in the Newbridge LEA, writes Brian Byrne.

She followed in her running mate from Newbridge Peggy O'Dwyer who had been elected in an earlier count.

Chris Pender of the Social Democrats was also elected on this count having achieved the quota with a surplus of 10.

Then Rob Power and Noel Heavey, both from Fianna Fail, were deemed elected without having reached the quota.

Tracey received 72 transfers from Independent candidate Morgan McCabe, bringing her over the line with a surplus of 38.

Fiona McLoughlin Healy was the first to be elected in the electoral area, on the first count with a massive surplus.
