Kilcullen distributor road 'not being progressed'

Kildare County Council says it is not considering a distributor ring road for Kilcullen due to resources being committed elsewhere, writes Brian Byrne.

In response to a question from Cllr Billy Hillis at the most recent meeting of Naas Municipal District, the Council said such a provision would be 'a major scheme and would require the acquisition of lands and an associated funding stream'.

Cllr Hillis said the distributor ring road is 'badly needed' in Kilcullen. But the Council said the Road Design team is not progressing the proposal at this time, because resources are 'fully committed to a number of projects across the five municipal districts'.
