Brannockstown Community Committee meeting upcoming

A meeting on Monday 25 March in Brannockstown will elect a new Brannockstown Community Committee and discuss various community activities for the rest of the year, writes Brian Byrne.

The meeting will be in the Baptist Church Halls, and begins at 8pm.

The Spring Leaflet recently published by the Community Committee outlines a range of work which needs to be done to get the village ready for planting and sowing. It seeks help from all residents in the Brannockstown area to help the village look its best for the summer.

Flowers for the village have already been ordered and volunteers are needed for digging, planting, painting, leaf blowing and litter picking.

Other matters of concern to the community is the condition of footpaths, the speed of traffic, and the unpleasantness of dog-mess. A reported motion to Kildare County Council about the installation of a second speed ramp also needs to be followed up.

Meantime, various fundraising events towards the €1,800 cost of a defibrillator have so far raised €1,000 and the Community Committee will be planning more events for this cause in the coming months.
